Serenity One villas features four attached residential units shielded by a continuous belt of vertical louvers running along its all periphery casting its poetic shading. Located in Dubai – umm suqiem second, the construction began early 2014.
The fours villas are conceived as a unified linear mass that creates its own “ecology” where residents can enjoy dramatic visuals without conceding their privacy. The planning strategy for the ground floor is a duality of an Open plan with the main functions and a Black box enclosure with the supporting functions.
A Contrarian Approach
The ordinary approach of fragmentation and over articulation has been abandoned so not to dilute the impact of the larger more cohesive image. The proposed approach is to dispose of all norms and unify the expression into a single bold statement that of the Hovering Serene Veil with presence and intrigue.
Expansive Volumetric Elements & Fluid Space
Elements are stretched in their linear coverage for cohesiveness; expansive horizontal and vertical spaces are preserved by undoing unnecessary walls and partitions opening internal space and welding the spatial indoor area with outdoor.
The outdoor concoctors are mainly linear water and greenery frame to reinforce visual perspectives and the site processional narrative.
The proposed exterior material, beyond glass, is only one compounding the rigor of the project. Panels of textured/rustic lightweight ultra high performance concrete are used. For cohesion, off-white marble flooring, white walls with minimal wooden elements is used on the interior.
